Tyna & Matthew's Engagement Party

This was a fun crowd.

Tynah and Matthew held their engagement party at the Windy Hill Football Ground function room, and it did not disappoint. The room was well-sized, the drinks were flowing, and the food looked amazing. The staff were magnificent and ready to help with any question or request.

Matthew is a voracious reader and the book theme had the room decked out to perfection. Guests were invited to leave messages of support and advice for the future on replica vintage postcards, and the kids (and more than one adult) were kept entertained by the Nintendo Switch attached to the large wall-mounted TV.

But the night was made successful by the people. Tynah and Matthew have the best family and friends. They were so cheerful, fun-loving and just a hoot to be around. At one point, I was made an “honourary Tasmanian” by an entertaining guest who managed to appear in a few more photos than was probably intended.

Upon receiving the link to their photo gallery, I received the most beautiful email and was then knocked off my feet by the Google review Tynah left for me the following day.

I won’t hide that I REALLY want to be the photographer for their wedding.

Kaitlyn & Chiron’s Bulong Estate Winery Wedding

This wedding was extra special as it was the first wedding I photographed since 2019 (Thanks COVID-19).

It’s always fascinating to find how a couple came across RXAphotography and this couple were certainly unique. I’d been hired last minute to photograph a 21st birthday party in 2011. Kaitlyn was in attendance and apparently I’d taken a nice photograph of her. Fast forward 10 years and I had the honour of photographing Kaitlyn marrying the love of her life, the handsome Chiron. True to form, as far as weddings go, this was also last minute (3 months notice) compared to my usual wedding timeline.  The day arrived and it promised to keep us on our toes with rain being forecast.

The boys got dressed and I photographed the process. As is a lot more common than you would imagine, YouTube came in very handy when it came to the ties. It was then off to the see the girls and to document their progress. The spa at the suite came in handy but the highlight to me was the bouquet that was able to stand up by itself! I was a little too excited about this.

Preparations complete we headed to Bulong Estate Winery, our location for the rest of the day.

The rain did make an appearance during the ceremony, but being the awesome couple they are, Kaitlyn & Chiron shrugged it off and did not let it spoil their ceremony in any way. We whisked off for photos whilst the guests got stuck in to the provided lawn games and refreshments. The smaller gathering made this wedding even better and by the end of the night I truly felt like a member of the family (I even made it in to the family photos!).

It was such an honour to be a part of this truly beautiful wedding and I thank Kaitlyn and Chiron for the chance to be a part of their day. Click on a photo below to check out a gallery of my favourites from the day and to see the list of amazing vendors who contributed to an amazing day!
